Scaly-breasted Munia eating casuarina seeds

Lena Chow came across about five Scaly-breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata) and two juveniles high up a casuarina tree (Casuarina equisetifolia). The birds were picking on the cone-like fruiting head to eat the seeds. Very few birds exploit this food source.
