Choo Teik Ju photographed a juvenile Tiger Shrike (Lanius tigrinus) catching a moth at Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia sometime in March 2009.
Tiger Shrikes eat large insects like beetles, carpenter bees and large grasshoppers. They also eat small birds and other vertebrates but rarely so. Here, we show the bird eating a small moth.
This post is a cooperative effort between NaturePixels.org and BESG to bring the study of bird behaviour through photography to a wider audience.
