Asian Paradise Flycatcher at the Botanic Gardens

“While everyone was out welcoming the raptors this weekend, I was out for a stroll at Botanical Gardens.
“The tree right next to the botany center at Tanglin core (the building is built around it) had some orange-coloured fruit and lots of birds hanging around there. I was walking around with my puny 200mm lens trying to photograph some starlings when my non-birder husband alerted me about an orange bird with a long tail. I managed to spend an enjoyable half an hour watching the Asian Paradise flycatcher flushing out insects with its tail
“I’ve encountered the bird at Sungei Buloh & Chinese Gardens, but this is the first time I’ve seen it in a place with such high human traffic before.
“Easy way to see the Asian Paradise flycatcher: Park car at the Tanglin core carpark, walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor of the botany center & cros s your fingers.”
